The office aims to maximize the contribution of international students to the university community in particular and the Jordanian society in general. It assists international students in adapting and integrating into the student body, overcoming the challenges they may face in their academic and professional lives. It also provides residency and customs exemption services for international students.
Duties of the Department of Foreign Affairs:
Preparing an archive database with information related to international students and faculty members.
Assisting in the preparation of an international student guide.
Distributing informational booklets to international students to familiarize them with the office’s responsibilities and objectives.
Following up on residency issuance and renewal procedures each semester, addressing students’ issues with the Ministry of Interior and security agencies, and working to solve their problems as much as possible.
Regular meetings with students at the Office of International Student Affairs to hear their suggestions and concerns.
Issuing electronic residencies for students and faculty members through the Ministry of Interior.
Issuing electronic entry visas.
Arranging housing for female dormitory students.
Issuing official letters to the Customs Department to grant customs exemptions for international students.
Organizing and following up on the activities and events related to international student communities.
Entry Visa Requirements:
A copy of a valid passport.
Proof of student status from the university’s admissions and registration office.
Permanent and temporary addresses.
A copy of residency in the country of residence (for nationalities residing outside their home country).
First-time Residence Requirements:
A copy of a valid passport (information page, page containing the latest entry to Jordan, and residence determination) valid for at least 6 months.
Medical examination.
Residence determination and fingerprinting at the nearest security center in the student's residence area.
Proof of student status from the university, certified by the Ministry of Higher Education.
A letter from the university's presidency to the relevant ministry.
Two personal photos.
A copy of residency from the country of residence, valid for at least one year for nationalities residing outside their home country.
Residence Renewal Requirements:
Include the first-time residency requirements except for the medical examination, residence determination, and fingerprinting on the passport.
Procedures for International Students Upon Graduation
Go to the security center to settle the file and obtain a clearance certificate.
Obtain a clearance certificate from the university.
Procedures for Transferring Sponsorship of International Students to the University
Clearance certificate from the entity of previous residency.

Procedures for Transferring Sponsorship from the University
Cancel the annual residency (settle the file).
A letter from the Ministry of Interior for the sponsorship transfer.
General Notes
Students holding a Palestinian Authority passport are required to review the Palestinian Affairs Department and relevant security agencies.
Holders of temporary passports need to review relevant security agencies if they have a green card.
In case any student is summoned by the relevant security agencies, they need to present the following:
A. University ID
B. Passport
C. Proof of student status
D. Class schedule
E. Financial receipts
All international students of all nationalities are required to review the Office of International Student Affairs at the Deanship of Student Affairs to fill out a personal data form to document and save their data in the database system.
Additional Nationalities added for Residency:
Syrian Students:
Residence determination at the nearest security center to the student’s residence.
Obtain a security ID at police stations according to their residence.
When Syrian students exit or enter, they need a letter from the Deanship of Student Affairs (exit and re-entry mission).
Yemeni Students:
Residence determination at the nearest security center to the student’s residence.
Send an official transaction to the Ministry of Interior to obtain an annual residency.
