University of Petra Club organized a sports event for its members to watch the Jordanian national football team's match against Iraq as part of the World Cup qualifiers. The event aimed to foster teamwork and social connections among colleagues. The match, held at Basra International Stadium, ended in a goalless draw after an intense and competitive performance by both teams.
The Club's Head, Prof. Eyad Mallah, emphasized that the event reflects the club's commitment to supporting the national team and strengthening social ties among the university's faculty and staff. He remarked, “Such events embody the sense of unity that characterizes University of Petra community, fostering stronger connections and teamwork among colleagues beyond daily work routines."
The event was attended by the General Manager of Petra Education Company, Mr. Samer Al-Tayyeb, alongside numerous faculty and staff members, creating an enthusiastic and spirited atmosphere. Jordanian football stars, including Dr. Yousef Khair, Captain Ahmad Hayel, Captain Monther Abu Amarah, and Captain Saleh Rateb, also joined, sharing the excitement and adding to the lively ambiance.
This initiative is part of University of Petra Club's efforts to enhance social and cultural bonds within the university and encourage employees to participate in shared activities. On the field, the Jordanian team displayed commendable performance against Iraq, with both sides demonstrating strong defense and attack.
