Prof. Rami Abdel-Rahem, the President of University of Petra, honored Dr. Nasim Matar the Distinguished Researcher Award in the Department of E-business and Commerce for the Academic Year 2022/2023. Dr. Matar achieved the highest score in the evaluation of research papers submitted in the Department of E-business and Commerce.
It is worth noting that the University of Petra Council has adopted, since the first semester of the Academic Year 2022/2023, new criteria for selecting (the distinguished researcher), and accordingly, the Distinguished Researcher Award includes all academic departments at the University of Petra. The award was granted to (16) researchers, after it was awarded for one researcher at the university in the past years.
Dr. Matar holds a Ph.D. Degree in Software Engineering for E-Learning Systems from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK. He has numerous creative publications in the field of Business Intelligence, Data Science, and Software Engineering. Currently, he holds the position of Chair of the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Department at the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Adnan Badran, the Chancellor of University of Petra, members of the Board of Trustees, deans of faculties, directors of administrative departments and Scientific centers, and Faculty members.
