Prof. Muwalla Patronizes Graduation Ceremony of 24th Batch

Prof. Marwan Muwalla, President of University of Petra (UOP), patronized the two-day graduation ceremony of the 24th Batch for the university year 2017/2018. The number of graduates amounted to 460.
Prof. Muwalla said “UOP does not only help its students acquire needed skills and knowledge but instills noble values in them. We want our students to believe in the significance of knowledge, need for work and freedom and innovation apart from intolerance. We want our students to enjoy enlightened minds, accept pluralism, respect others, use positive dialogue to reach facts and take lessons from the achievements of other nations without relinquishing cultural and national traditions. We want them to enjoy confidence in their abilities to build, achieve and compete”.
Prof. Muwalla referred to the achievements made by UOP last year, including: Granting Quality Assurance Certificate to UOP three years ago, ABET accreditation of two majors at the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) and conferring Quality Assurance Certificate-Silver Level Upon the Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Medical Sciences. “UOP maintained the first place to private universities and fourth to Jordanian universities in the QS ranking,” Prof. Muwalla added.
Prof. Muwalla said “I congratulate you and your families on this achievement. We have exerted every effort to prepare you for labor market and develop UOP until it became a university that you are proud to be part of it. UOP is a leading academic institution that instills noble values in your hearts and minds”.
Bashir Al-Kubaisi delivered graduates’ statement in the first day. Al-Kubaisi said: “There is no nation that rose and advanced without scientific development and knowledge and taking lessons from its past experiences as well as other nations’ achievements for the sake of better future". Al-Kubaisi addressed UOP professors and instructors: “You take a significant responsibility in the success of your students. You incubate and support your students and encourage them to hard-work and making sacrifices".
Nagham Hassan said in the graduates’ statement in the second day: “In this annual occasion, we leave behind UOP and start another journey in our life. We left students who seek to graduate.  We have enjoyed wonderful memories in UOP”.
The graduation ceremony hosted a statement by the editorial secretary of the local news section Alrai newspaper Nisreen Al Kurd. Al Kurd said “Since my graduation, I have put what I have learned into practice. I work now as the editorial secretary of the local news section Alrai newspaper and I have obtained the best journalistic award given by Jordan Press Association (JPA) in the Kingdom”.
“As I stand before elite of professors, including UOP president, deans of faculties, and teaching staff, words fade into silence and I remember also these wonderful days at UOP,” Al Kurd added.
The general manager of Petra Education Company (PEDC) Eng. Mohammed Masen Al Ansari and many graduates’ families attended the graduation ceremony.
