Chemistry Department, Manufacturing Companies Explore Developing Curricula in line with Labor Market Needs

UOP President Prof. Marwan Muwalla patronized a seminar organized by UOP Chemistry Department entitled: "Manufacturing Employers and Chemistry Instructors Meeting". The seminar revolved around developing and modifying the components of the chemistry study plan to align them with the Jordanian labor market needs.
Chemistry teaching staff discussed the views of the manufacturing employers, their suggestions concerning chemistry plan, and input by chemistry working in manufacturing companies. Chemistry teaching staff and manufacturing employers agreed to conduct joint research between the participating industrial institutions and the chemistry department, develop cooperation in field visits, train chemistry students, rely on teaching staff's research conclusions and hold further meetings to establish a real partnership between Academia and Manufacturing Companies.
In the seminar, the participants explored avenues for cooperation between Academia and Manufacturing Companies in training, development and scientific research, and familiarizing UOP chemistry students with partnerships and local companies for providing job opportunities for them after graduation.
Directors and representatives from the Ministry of Industry, the Institution for Standards and Metrology, and the Center for Hamdi Mango Scientific Research, and the Jordanian company for the pharmaceutical Manufacturing (JBM), Vivid Separation & Filtration Vivid Separation & Filtration Company, and Alfa Chemical Industries, Inc. Ayla Investments Company, Flow Company for  industrial and environmental services as well as Hijaz Establishment For Electronic & Scientific Supplies participated in the seminar.
