The Cultural, Artistic and Social Activities Section (CASAS) aims to provide opportunities for students to practice and improve their hobbies, raise awareness among young people and develop the personality of University students.
CASAS sponsors and supervises all activities, provides appropriate atmosphere for these activities through planned programs aiming at developing the sense of responsibility and belonging among students, enhancing students’ experience in various areas and developing their personality.
Functions and Duties of CASAS
  1. Guiding students to discover and improve their skills, talents and preferences.
  2. Providing opportunities for students to participate in cultural, artistic and social events.
  3. Organizing various cultural festivals, events, seminars and lectures.
  4. Supporting talented students by developing their skills in the different areas, including: Music, singing, folk dance, theater, drawing and ceramics and forming artistic teams at the University.
  5. Building balanced personality of students and complying with ethical values when public service workshops and training courses are held.
  6. Participating in the camps and national youth events for university students.
  7. Supervising volunteering and social initiatives launched by university students.
  8. Participating in the cultural and artistic activities and competitions held at other universities in coordination with UOP faculties.
  9. Organizing training courses and artistic competitions in: Free drawing, improving handwriting, drawing, wood burning, ceramics, playing musical instruments, folk dance, photography and Dabka principles.
  10. Organizing and participating in local community serving activities organized at the university.
  11. Improving and developing students’ talents at UOP theater.
  12. Supervising maintenance of audio devices installed at theaters and meeting rooms in the university.
  13. Participating in preparing of the Year Book for Graduates.
  14. Providing artistic grants for eligible student on a yearly basis.
Key Events:
  1. Organizing annual festival in celebration of Independence Day.
  2. Organizing annual cultural exhibition on Jerusalem.
  3. Organizing UOP Festival for Arab Heritage and Folk Arts for Secondary Schools in Jordan.
  4. Winning multiple awards in theater, singing, playing musical instruments and painting competitions.
  5. Hosting various lectures on domestic violence, fight against drugs and other artistic activities.
  6. Participating in Annual Businesswomen Forum for the third year in a row and winning the first place of pioneering after presenting leading projects at the International Conference on Union for the Mediterranean that was held at the Kingdom of Spain and witnessed participation of 33 states in the university year 2013/2014.
  7. Participating in many conferences, forums and workshops on Youth, Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Micro-Initiatives, including:
    • Fourth Arab Thought Fourth entitled Arab Economy and Empowering Future Youth.
    • Arab Forum for Environment and Development (AFED).
    • National Day for Arab Young People Voice Forum.
    • Participating in student activities organized by the Ministry of Youth and Public Security Directorate.
Key Achievements:
  1. Organizing twenty annual festivals in celebration of Independence Day.
  2. Organizing seventeen annual cultural exhibitions on Jerusalem.
  3. Organizing 13th UOP Festival for Arab Heritage and Folk Arts for Secondary Schools in Jordan.
  4. Winning multiple awards in theater, singing, playing musical instruments and painting competitions.
  5. Hosting various lectures on domestic violence, fight against drugs and other artistic activities.
