A Master's thesis presented by the student Iman Hussein Al-Adwan was defended at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Petra. The thesis is titled "Verbal Stuttering and Its Relationship to Linguistic Violation and Speech Disorders: A Linguistic Analytical Study," under the supervision of Dr. Samih Maqdadi, with the participation of Dr. Mahmoud Obeidat (external examiner), Dr. Haroun Rababah (internal examiner), and Dr. Ibrahim Khalil (internal examiner).
The study addressed the issue of verbal stuttering and its relationship to linguistic violation and speech disorders. This issue lies at the intersection of three sciences: linguistics, psychology, and neuroscience, collectively known as "Psycholinguistics." The study concluded that verbal stuttering, regardless of its psychological or neurological causes, falls within the framework of language disorders and is a fundamental factor in linguistic violation.
