The University of Petra Cultural Salon hosted a lecture by the Jordanian Artist Juliet Awad entitled: “Jordanian Drama: Ambitions and Challenges". It was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Rami Abdel-Rahem, a few deans, directors of administrative departments, and university students.

Prof. Abdel-Rahem welcomed the artist Awad, expressing the university's appreciation for her distinguished artistic career, praising her influential roles, especially in the famous series “Al-Taghreeba Al-Falastenya", which he considered a dramatic work that carries a deep message about the Palestinian struggle, and reflects the Jordanian artist's commitment to the issues of his nation.

Awad addressed the challenges faced by Jordanian drama, noting the decline in government support and its impact on job opportunities for Jordanian artists, especially during periods of regional crises. She stressed that the Jordanian artist has proven his worth in Bedouin works that have received support from the Gulf countries but also stressed the need to provide more local support to highlight the potential of Jordanian artists.

Awad reviewed her experience in the series “Al-Taghreeba Al-Falastenya", and confirmed that she agreed to participate in it because of its noble message to serve the Palestinian cause. She spoke about the touching scenes during the filming, such as scenes of migration and dealing with the wounded, calling them "moments full of deep and unforgettable human feelings".

The President of the University of Petra Club, Dr. Eyad Al-Mallah, welcomed the artist Awad in his speech during the meeting, saying: "Today we are proud to host the able artist Juliet Awad, an icon of committed art, and a beacon of creativity, who inspired us all with her national positions and purposeful artistic initiatives. Her presence among us is a precious opportunity for our students to learn about the role of art in serving community and national issues, and to embody the noble human messages that she sought to convey through her distinctive works."

She received degrees in directing and acting from Armenia, contributed to teaching theatrical activities to children, and prepared academic programs for the application of drama in education and skills development, which are still being applied in some schools.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion with the attendees, who expressed their admiration for Awad's artistic career and its role in enriching Jordanian drama.
