Prof. Rami Abdel-Rahem, President of University of Petra, honored several faculty members who have achieved academic ranks or completed their academic journey at the university. This recognition took place during the annual introductory dinner organized by University of Petra Club for the university staff, both academic and administrative.
Abdel-Rahem expressed his appreciation and pride in the contributions of both academic and administrative staff over the past academic year. These contributions included the introduction of new majors to meet labor market needs, increasing the number of enrolled students, and obtaining local and international accreditations. He highlighted the university's progress in digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence tools in training programs and internal communications, aligning with the strategic plan for digital transformation.
Prof. Eyad Mallah, Head of University of Petra Club, reviewed the various activities organized by the club over the past year. These activities included cultural, sports, and artistic events, as well as social events for the club members' families. Mallah announced future planned events, including a talent discovery and creativity initiative among club members, aimed at nurturing talents in the fields of arts, culture, sports, and innovation, thereby enhancing the club's role in serving the university community.
In conclusion, Mallah called for continued support for the club from the university administration and faculty and staff members. He expressed his best wishes for the Jordanian national team's upcoming match and hoped for continued security and stability in Jordan under King Abdullah II's leadership. Mallah also highlighted the club's role in supporting national and Arab causes, particularly its solidarity with the Palestinian cause, including organizing the "The Image Triumphs" exhibition in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and coordinating a donation campaign with the Hashemite Charity Organization to aid Gaza's residents.
