University of Petra strengthened its regional presence by signing several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with three prestigious Arab universities, on the sidelines of its participation in the 57th General Conference of the Arab Universities Union, held at the International University in Kuwait.
Professor Rami Abdel-Rahem, President of University of Petra, signed an MoU with the International University in Kuwait, focusing on academic exchange, joint research projects that serve development priorities in the Arab world. During the signing, Dr. Abdel-Rahem emphasized, "The agreement reflects University of Petra's vision in building strategic partnerships that contribute to improving the quality of higher education." He also commended the International University for organizing the conference and providing an encouraging environment for academic cooperation among Arab universities.
Additionally, MoUs were signed with the University of Jinan and Global University in Lebanon, aimed at supporting academic exchange programs, enhancing research collaboration, and facilitating knowledge transfer among Arab higher education institutions.
The Arab Universities Union's general conference witnessed broad participation from university presidents and representatives of scientific and research bodies, discussing ways to strengthen regional integration, and develop paths for digital transformation and innovation in Arab higher education, further cementing the position of Arab universities on both regional and international stages.
