Dr. Marwan Al-Muwalla, president of University of Petra (UOP), opened the British Council Workshop: Entitled "Leadership and Management". The workshop was held at UOP among a program to train academics at the beginning of their careers in Jordanian universities, in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Al-Muwalla emphasized the importance of leadership and management in developing academics and said: "This course is of great importance since it enables faculty members to play a management and leadership role, in addition to their sacred and traditional role".
It is worth mentioning that the British Council launched a series of training workshops within higher education projects. These projects aims to build the capacity of academics at the beginning of their careers in Jordanian universities in the areas of modern teaching and scientific research excellence besides participation and leadership. That includes the priorities and objectives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The British Council is concerned with the development of academic education and its information in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Human Resources Development (2016-2025).
