The Board of Deans of University of Petra has decided to grant Prof. Ahmed Al-Khatib the rank of "Honored Professor", based on the instructions of the faculty members, after he completed his work at the university for 21 consecutive years to the rank of "Professor".
Al-Khatib now holds the position of Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University. He has served as Head of the Arabic Language Department for eighteen years, and Dean of Student Affairs for four years.
Al-Khatib obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Cairo University in 1968, a Master's Degree in 1980 and a Doctorate in 1983 from the same university.
Al-Khatib has several books in the fields of poetry, novel, short story, and criticism issues. He has published more than 40 studies in scholarly scientific journals. He has supervised a number of master’s theses at the University of Petra, and participated in the discussion of a number of master’s and doctoral theses in all Jordanian universities.
