The President of the University of Petra, Professor Rami Abdel-Rahem, received the Greek Ambassador to Amman, Irene Riga, to discuss ways of enhancing academic and research cooperation and developing partnership opportunities in the field of dentistry.
Professor Abdel-Rahem emphasized the University's commitment to expanding cooperation with prestigious Greek universities, noting that the meeting focused on exchanging academic expertise and exploring the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding that would include student exchange and joint clinical training, serving the aspirations of both sides.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Professor Firas Al-Sleihat, along with faculty members who are graduates of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The visiting delegation was also presented with a visual presentation highlighting the University of Petra's development journey and the advancement of its infrastructure and technological capabilities across various disciplines.
Ambassador Riga also met with His Excellency Professor Mahmoud Abu Mweis and the Director of Petra Education Company, Engineer Khaled A'reim. At the conclusion of the visit, the University President presented the Ambassador with a commemorative shield in appreciation of her efforts in supporting cultural and scientific communication.
The Greek Ambassador expressed her admiration for the advanced level achieved by the University, particularly the use of modern technology in the Faculty of Dentistry facilities, stressing the importance of continued coordination and joint efforts to achieve the objectives of academic cooperation between institutions in both countries.
