UOP Student Among Honorees at ‘You Are Jordan’s Ambassadors’ Ceremony

​​Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Azmi Mahafzah honored University of Petra student Mohammad Yaser Horaniyah, who achieved the highest GPA (3.97) among international students in the Business Administration program at the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences.

The ceremony, held under the theme “You Are Jordan's Ambassadors," was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the Jordan Tourism Board to celebrate top international graduates of Jordanian higher education institutions in its fourth edition (2024–2025).

The event took place at SIGNIA by Hilton Amman in the presence of UOP President Prof. Rami Abdel-Rahem, Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Eyad Mallah, Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions President Dhafer Al-Sarayrah, Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education Shadi Masaadeh, Secretary General of the Ministry of Government Communication Zaid Al-Nawaiseh, alongside ambassadors, cultural attachés, university presidents, deans, registrars, and officials responsible for international student affairs in Jordanian universities and colleges.

In his remarks, Minister Mahafzah reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Al Hussein, to keeping Jordan's higher education institutions open to students from across the Arab and Islamic worlds and beyond. He stressed Jordan's role in promoting moderation, cultural dialogue, and building bridges among nations.

The minister added that Jordan has become a preferred destination for international students and that the ministry, in cooperation with universities, provides a holistic academic, cultural, and social environment. He addressed the graduates, describing them as goodwill ambassadors between their home countries and Jordan, urging them to uphold discipline, excellence, and dedication to serving their communities.

Bahraini graduate Noura Majed Al-Ghatam, who ranked first among international PhD graduates at Mutah University in Strategic Management, said the recognition reflects Jordan's commitment to international students and its support for academic excellence.

The ceremony also witnessed the launch of the new visual identity for attracting international students to study in Jordan, under the title “Study in Jordan," designed by creative expert in graphic design and production, Muotaz Hasanain.

The program featured a poetry recital by Hashemite University graduate Meshal Al-Enezi and a musical performance by the all-female Naya band, delivering traditional oriental tunes.
