The American Accreditation Council granted the "ACPE" certificate to the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at University of Petra for a period of six years, which is the maximum duration that the institution grants for the accreditation of educational programs in pharmacy faculties.

It is worth mentioning that the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at University of Petra was the first pharmacy faculty in a private Jordanian university to receive American accreditation.

The President of University of Petra, Prof. Rami Abdel-Rahem, congratulated the university and faculty on this distinguished achievement, considering that obtaining this certificate at this level for such a long duration confirms the excellent educational practices at the faculty and university. It also reflects the full confidence expressed by the expert committee in the university's adherence to all the standards emphasized by this accreditation.

He also clarified that the university did not make any prior arrangements for the visit, aiming to reflect the true reality of the university and to receive any feedback for improvement. This approach to quality has become a prevalent practice in all academic and administrative practices at University of Petra, which was evident to the ACPE expert team. The team also expressed admiration for the level of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences graduates, based on their field visits to the graduates at their workplaces, and their possession of the knowledge, skills, and competencies required, along with outstanding soft skills and communication abilities. This served as a significant incentive for the experts to grant this accreditation for the next six years.

The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at University of Petra, Prof. Riad Awad, stated that renewing the university's accreditation and extending the accreditation period from four years to six years reflects the American Accreditation Council's confidence in the Faculty of Pharmacy at University of Petra's commitment to high-quality standards. It proves that the faculty's academic programs have witnessed actual development during the previous accreditation years.

The American Accreditation Council grants its certificate to pharmacy faculties outside the United States when the academic programs in those faculties align with the programs in pharmacy faculties within the United States. According to Dr. Riad Awad, this means that the educational and training programs at University of Petra are distinguished programs. Awad added, "Granting the Faculty of Pharmacy the American accreditation certificate means that graduates from the Faculty of Pharmacy possess the knowledge and skills enabling them to pursue their postgraduate studies in American universities without facing obstacles related to differences in academic programs."
