Prof. Rami Abdel-Rahem, the President of the University of Petra (UOP), participated in a lecture entitled: "Private Universities: Realism, Challenges and Ambition", organized by the Jordanian Society for Scientific Research, Entrepreneurship, and Creativity (JSSREC). His Excellency, Jadara University President HE Prof. Muhammad Taleb Obaidat spoke during the lecture.
The lecture addressed the private universities' journey since their incorporation, some misconceptions about them, gaps relating to the governing legislation of the universities, and the uneven standards applied to the accreditation of the private and public universities.
Prof. Obaidat called the government for easing the procedures for the foreign students from GCC countries desiring to study in the private universities, underscoring the significant role played by the private universities in making progress in the education and culture, and growing the national economy.
The attendees admired the lecture and Prof. Obaidat concluded it by responding to the inquiries raised by the attendees.
