The Faculty of Architecture and Design at University of Petra organized its first alumni gathering, with the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Amer Al-Jawhaddar, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Iyad Al-Mallah, along with several faculty and administrative members. The event was also attended by the Career Guidance and Alumni Follow-up Office at the university. More than 70 graduates from various departments of the faculty participated in the gathering.
The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen communication between the university and its alumni. Dr. Al-Jawhaddar welcomed the attendees and highlighted the significant achievements of the faculty in recent years. He noted that the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the University of Petra received local quality accreditation from the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation Authority for four years, from 2022 to 2026. He also mentioned the introduction of new undergraduate and master's programs, as well as a dual-degree program designed to train students for nine months to prepare them for the job market.
Dr. Al-Jawhaddar discussed the improvements made in curriculum development, infrastructure, and laboratories. He praised the achievements of faculty students, who have received international, regional, and local awards. He emphasized the importance of connecting with graduates to build sustainable communication and support their professional paths.
Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Iyad Al-Mallah, underscored the importance of meeting with alumni to establish strong connections and cooperation while supporting their professional journeys. Several attendees shared their success stories and experiences to contribute to curriculum development and offered advice to their fellow students to guide and motivate them towards achieving their professional goals.
The gathering also involved discussions on ways to enhance faculty programs and improve the educational process in the fields of architecture and design. This event represents a significant step towards building a strong network of communication between the faculty and its alumni, as well as enhancing University of Petra's role in contributing to societal development and refining the skills and potentials of students and graduates.
