The President of University of Petra, Prof. Rami Abdul-Rahem, received the university graduate, journalist Firas Al-Jamal, in his office. The meeting was attended by Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Eyad Mallah, Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Nidal Al-Salhi, and the Director of Public and International Relations, Ala'a Arabiyat.
Abdul-Rahem presented an honorary shield to Al-Jamal, in line with the university's policy of recognizing its outstanding graduates.
Al-Jamal, a graduate of University of Petra since 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Financial and Banking Sciences, began his professional journey by working at Arab Bank for several years. He then transitioned to various journalistic and media roles. In 2014, he embarked on a career in media at Radio Global, followed by a position at Roya TV as part of the presenting team for the show 'Extra Time'. He later joined Al-Mamlaka TV in 2018, working as a sports presenter.
Subsequently, Al-Jamal moved to work for the international sports channel 'beIN SPORTS' in 2021 as a sports anchor in news and programs, as well as a field correspondent. He hosted the official ceremony for the 2022 Golden Ball award and served as an on-field correspondent for several matches during the World Cup. He was also part of the studio coverage for the World Cup final match between Argentina and France on the Al-Ikhbariya channel.
