​Students are allowed to transfer from other universities to the University of Petra (UOP) in case there are vacant seats and according to the following conditions:

  1. Students meet UOP admission requirements stated in the admission conditions page.

  2. Students may transfer from a university or college recognized by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The Dean of Admissions & Registration shall refer the equivalency forms for courses the student studies outside UOP to the concerned Dean of the faculty taking the following into consideration:

  1. No more than 50% of the major credit hours of the study plan may be equalized.

  2. One semester for every (15) credit hours transferred is deducted from the duration required for graduation.

  3. Courses studied at non-Jordanian universities with grades less than 60% may not be transferred.

  4. For students transferring from the Jordanian universities, no major subjects below a mark of 60% may be equalized.

  5. A “T” is recorded in the student’s transcript for the equalized courses and these courses shall not be counted in the calculation of the CGPA.

Required documents for students transferring from other universities:

  1. All documents required by the holders of the General Secondary Education Certificate.

  2. Marks’ transcript from the university of origin that is certified by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

  3. A letter of Good Conduct from the university of origin for students transferring from the Jordanian Universities.

  4. A letter of non-expulsion from the program of study for students transferring from private universities in Jordan.​
