Conditions & Required Documents for Admission in Bachelor Programs:
First: Conditions for Admission Bachelor Programs:
A. Students holding General Secondary Education Certificate or Equivalent:
  1. Holding General Secondary Education Certificate or Equivalent.
  2. His/her score in the General Secondary Education Certificate conforms to the desired major’s minimum average.
  3. Passing the “technical abilities” test for students wishing to study in Faculty of Architecture & Design (FAD).
  4. Except for the Pharmacy major for Iraqi students, non-Jordanian students with an average lower by 15 marks of the required average for admission may be admitted to any majors, provided they do not exceed 25% of a program’s capacity.
B. Students who hold a Diploma certificate and wish to bridge their studies:
  1. Jordanian students holding diploma degree who have passed the comprehensive examination with an average no less than 68%, (except for Pharmacy, Architecture and Engineering which require not less than 70%, may be admitted into the university to bridge their studies. 50% of the credit hours of their study plan are equalized, provided their scores are not lower than 60%.
  2. Non-Jordanian students holding diploma degree may be admitted in the University, provided they present an official letter from the student’s country Ministry of Higher Education or from the students’ country embassy in Jordan, stating that the said diploma qualifies him/her to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in their country. Alternatively, students may equalize his/her diploma certificate from the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Jordan. 50% of the total credit hours are equalized, provided that their scores are not lower than 60%.
Second: Needed documents for Bachelor programs:
A. Students holding General Secondary Education Certificate:
  1. Marks’ transcript of Jordanian holding General Secondary Education Certificate or its equivalent, duly certified in Arabic and English.
  2. Equivalency of the holding General Secondary Education Certificate for non-Jordanian students certificates issued in Arab countries need to be equalized by the Jordanian Ministry of Education.
  3. A copy of the Identity document (Identity Card issued by CSPD for Jordanians and Passport for non-Jordanians).
  4. One personal photo.
  5. Non-Jordanian students must request their respective country embassies in Jordan to provide the University with an official Non-Contest Letter to study at UOP, as is required by some nationalities.
         B. Students Holding Diploma Degrees:
  1. All documents required by holders of the General Secondary Education Certificate.
  2. A copy of the comprehensive duly certified by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  3. Marks’ transcript certified by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  4. If the diploma certificate was issued by a foreign educational institution, the student must provide the university with official letter from that country’s Ministry of Higher Education or from the country’s embassy in Jordan stating that the said diploma qualifies its holder to bridge their studies in that country. Students who hold Jordanian nationality are exempted from this and must equalize their certificate from the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Conditions and Required Documents for admission in Master Programs:
First: Conditions for Admission Master Programs:
  1. The student’s average in the Bachelor Degree is not less than 'Good' or equivalent.
  2. The student has obtained a proof of achieving the required score in the English language examination as illustrated in the table below:

3. Students with a ‘Satisfactory’ average are admitted according to the following conditions:
  • Studying and passing 3 MA courses specified by the department, provided that the average of each course is not less than 70% and the cumulative average is not less than 75%.
  • The percentage of the admitted students does not exceed 20% of the total seats allocated for each major (10% for Jordanian students and 10% for non-Jordanian students).
Second: Documents Required for MA Program:
  1. A duly certified general secondary education certificate.
  2. A copy of bachelor certificate and the marks’ transcript duly certified by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  3. Equivalency certificate of the Bachelor Degree issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (for graduates whose certificates need to be equalized).
  4. Proof of obtaining the required score in the English Language Examination.
  5. Letter of Recognition of the University of Petra from non-Jordanian students’ embassies.
  6. Copy of official identity document (Identity Card issued by CSPD for Jordanians and Passport for non-Jordanians).
  7. One personal Photo.
