Prof. Muwalla Opens Exhibition Entitled “Our Story from Jordanian Girls University to University of Petra (UOP)”

Prof. Marwan Muwalla, President of University of Petra (UOP), opened exhibition entitled “Our Story from Jordanian Girls University to University of Petra (UOP)” at UOP Gallery in the presence of the Petra Education Company (PEDC) General Manager Eng. “Mohammed Mazen” Al Ansari, deans of faculties, directors of departments and units, academic staff and teaching staff.
The exhibition contained three hundred photographs representing UOP's history since 1991 when it was called “Jordanian Girls University” and its achievements when it was renamed “University of Petra (UOP)” after the Jordanian City of Petra. The exhibition contained photographs for UOP former presidents, namely: HE Dr. Amin Mahmoud, HE Dr. Mahmoud Al Samra, HE Dr. Ahmad Salem, HE. Dr. Adnan Badran and UOP current president Prof. Marwan Muwalla.
Moreover, the exhibition contained a set of local and international certificates UOP obtained, including: ISO 9001: 2015 certificate, ABET accreditation certificate for two majors in the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT), Quality Assurance Certificate granted by Higher Education Accreditation Commission (HEAC) to UOP as well as the Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Medical Sciences (FPMS).
Prof. Muwalla pointed out that UOP takes pride of its history and achievements, emphasizing UOP concern to enhance its role in higher education and enable graduates to keep pace with the latest developments in their areas of specializations and acquire needed skills to compete in the labor market and serve the country.
Prof. Muwalla directed staff to permanently open the exhibition for UOP students and visitors to document UOP history and achievements.
