UOP Wins Second Place in KPMG Accounting Excellence Competition

The University of Petra (UOP) won the second place in the Second KPMG Competition for Excellence in Accounting. The competition was organized at Middle East University and witnessed the participation of 17 teams from Jordanian universities. Accounting Department Chair Dr. Mohammad Alqam received the Cup of the Second Place.
The UOP team consisted of: Amer Abu Felat, Razan Barham and Hussein Ramadan. This team obtained the second-place prize of 500 Jordanian Dinars and a 50% discount on CPA/CMA program provided by KPMG Jordan.
FAFS Dean Dr. Suhair Al Jaghoub congratulated the winners. “UOP's winning of the second place in the competition is an indication on its distinctive programs, regularly updated study plans and high performing teaching staff,” Dr. Suhair Al Jagub said.
We should feel proud of this achievement as the final phase witnessed vigorous competition between UOP and JU, Accounting Department Chair Dr. Mohammad Alqam said, adding that UOP students ranked second to Jordanian universities and ranked first to Private universities and many attendants admired UOP students’ performance.
The event was attended by MEU Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, MEU Vice President Talal Aburji and a group of representatives from KPMG Jordan, including: Hatem Kawasmy, Rabieh Abu Shalabi, Ameen Hussain and Mohammed Abu Dalu.
