The Academic Development Center is responsible for providing training courses aimed at enhancing the professional competence of faculty and administrative staff in accordance with the university’s directives, strategic plans, and modern developments in both academic and administrative fields.
The center determines the training courses annually through special surveys to gather feedback from faculty, administrative, and leadership staff at the university. It then develops a training plan based on the results of the training needs analysis, which is presented to the Advisory Council of the Academic Development Center and subsequently submitted to the Council of Deans for approval.
The Academic Development Center was established under Article (6) of Regulation No. (6), the Scientific Centers Regulation at the university, for the year 2010. The center has an advisory council consisting of the center’s director and a representative from each faculty nominated by the respective dean. The council is formed annually by a decision of the university presidency. The advisory council of the Academic Development Center undertakes the following tasks and responsibilities:
a. Formulating the general policy of the center.
b. Reviewing the annual work plan of the center and submitting it to the Council of Deans.
c. Recommending the center’s annual budget project.
d. Forming various committees related to the center’s activities.
e. Considering matters referred to it by the center’s director.
The Academic Development Center conducts training courses both in-person and online via Microsoft Teams. It also records the training sessions and uploads them to the center’s Moodle system to provide an opportunity for those who wish to attend the courses at a convenient time and to apply the skills covered in the various courses.
